Our pecans come from our orchards. After harvesting, the pecans are mechanically cleaned, sized, sanitized, cracked, shelled, and hand inspected. They are weighed and packaged in a heat-sealed, tamper-resistant plastic zip-top bag. This assures our customers of a high quality, sanitary and wholesome product.

Shelled pecans may be frozen and refrozen without deterioration. If the temperature is maintained near zero degrees Fahrenheit they may be stored for years. Grocery store pecans are typically displayed at room temperature, which causes them to turn dark, and if left too long on the shelf, they will develop a rancid smell and poor taste.


We are a seasonal business and sell pecans from late October through December. We sell by mail order and will ship to any location.


We have been producing pecans for over 40 years. In 1965, we purchased our first pecan grove. It was during these early years that we saw a need for an easier and more economical way to harvest pecans. We are filling those needs.

In 1965, we designed and built a tree shaker. Savage Equipment ambitiously embarked upon developing a more extensive equipment line-up and in 1977, harvesters, cleaners and sprayers were added to the line.

Our involvement in the pecan industry reaches much farther than manufacturing pecan-related equipment. Our family has expanded the pecan orchards to over 700 acres of irrigated and fertilized improved and native pecan trees.

In addition to Savage Equipment, we own and operate Hauani Creek Pecan Company. It is based on the ranch in southern Oklahoma. Here, we custom clean and process several million pounds of pecans annually. We buy and sell wholesale in-shell pecans along with our mail order and internet orders of custom-cracked and farm-shelled pecans. They are processed here at the ranch.
